Walsh Web Studio Kansas City

I build the website first,
then show it to you.

Most people selling you a website want a meeting, a deposit and six weeks before you see anything. I would rather just build it and let you look.

Email me about your business walshwebstudio@gmail.com. I read and answer these myself.

An illustration of the layout, drawn here in the browser. Not a real business.

One page, one fileNo page builder, no plugins, nothing to maintain or update.

Nothing loaded from elsewhereNo trackers, no font services, no third-party scripts.

Yours, on your own domainRegistered in your name, on your card. I never hold it.

How it works

Four steps, and the first two are mine

You do not have to decide anything until there is something real in front of you.

I research your business

From what is already public: your listings, your menu or service list, your reviews, your social pages. Every fact on the draft traces back to a source.

I build it and send you a link

A real working page, not a mockup. It carries a banner saying it is a design preview and not your official site, and it keeps that banner until you say yes.

We go through what I got wrong

Some of it will be wrong, because I built it from the outside. We correct the hours, the prices and anything else, and you confirm it in writing before it goes public.

You buy the domain and it goes live

In your name, on your card, with me sitting next to you. Takes ten minutes and costs about twelve dollars a year. Then I move the site onto it.

What's in it

Every site includes this, without being asked

None of it is an upgrade, an add-on, or a conversation about tiers.

Built for a phone first

Most people who look you up are on one, often in a car, deciding right now.

Tap to call, tap for directions

At the top, before anything else. For a local business those two are the whole point.

Hours that show open or closed

As it actually is, in your timezone, not the visitor's.

Search data built in

The structured markup that tells Google your address, phone and hours. Nobody sees it, and it is the part that moves local search.

Works with the lights off

Light mode, dark mode, readable text, keyboard navigation.

Loads nothing from anywhere else

No trackers, no font services, no script from a company you have never heard of.

What it costs

Two ways to do it

Same site either way. The difference is what happens after it goes live.

Most people pick this $600 then $75 up front, then monthly
  • The whole build
  • Day-to-day changes included: prices, hours, holiday closures, a new service
  • You email me directly. No ticket system, no account manager
  • Stop any time with 30 days' notice and keep the site
Or one and done $900 one time, nothing monthly
  • The same build
  • Half on signing, half when it goes live
  • Changes after launch are quoted as they come

Either way, the domain is yours: you pay the registrar directly, about $10 to $15 a year, on your own card, and it is registered in your name. I never hold it, which is the point. Two rounds of changes are included before launch.

Straight answers

Things worth saying out loud

You own the domain, not me

It is registered in your name on your card, and I never hold it. If you want to fire me you keep your site and your address, and that is the point. Holding a local business's domain hostage is a fast way to a bad name in a town this size.

I will not use photos that aren't yours

The pictures on your Google and Yelp pages belong to the customers who took them. I could have used them and chose not to. The design is built to look finished without any photography, and then we drop your own photos in.

Nobody can promise you a ranking

I can make sure Google has your hours, address and phone in the format it wants. Anyone quoting you a position on page one is guessing.

I am one person, not an agency

That is the trade. You get the person who built it answering your email, and I am not available at three in the morning.

Who I am

One person, from around here

My name is Kevin Walsh. I am from the Shawnee and Olathe area, and I build websites for small businesses around the Kansas City metro, one at a time.

There is no team, no account manager and no ticket system. You email me and I answer.

Get in touch

Tell me the name of your business

That is genuinely all I need to start. Send me the name and the town and I will have a look at what is already out there for you.

Email walshwebstudio@gmail.com If you would rather talk, say so in the email and give me a couple of times that suit you.
